Around the corner at the Meatpacking

Walking the cobblestone streets at the Meatpacking District you come across what I would call wall paper art. They replace the dead animals hanging from hooks not that long ago. Those animals though were dangling in open front wearhouses. Nowadays those killer shops have as good as all closed up their businesses. Shutters were nailed to the doors and windows, thus creating the ideal surface for billboard stickers to come and do their thing. And grafitti guys and sprayers along. And so time changes everything. Even this slow pop- up mural. Layers and layers of time are covering up what was before, making us forget what the meatpacking was all about.
